 Chapter  4/ 5 in the scene at the shop, how is camerawork used to create meanings? Find examples of camera angles, camera shot types and camera movement.

In chapter 4, the camerawork is used to create different meanings by filming in different shots, at the very start of the chapter there is a long shot which then becomes a close up as the camera moves into the cupboard where Kalim was standing watching what had happened. This makes is seem suspenseful as the camera moves slowly into the darkness until you see his face. Another camera shot is when the man is lying on the floor, they use a high angle shot so you can see the man properly, they do this so we are able to see what happened to him and how he died. Once the attack happened and the policewoman was talking to the owner of the shop, the camera gives an over the shoulder shot, the meaning if this is to make it seem as if we, the audience are there in that scene which draws the audience even more. 

Tv in the 2010's

 1. Explain technological convergence. [2] Technological convergence means that it can be available on things such as television sets, mobile phones, gaming devices and any technical platforms, it means that television is able to be watched and transferred onto different devices.

2. Explain 'channel surfing'. [2] Channel surfing is when you skip through a series of programmes to try get to the one you are looking for or the one you want.

Give 3 examples of how channels create brand loyalty [6] One example of how channels create brand loyalty is that they use ads, this could be a snippet of a certain show which could easily draw people in, another example is that they could have a very suspenful scene and end it in a cliff-hanger which forces the watcher to want to see the next episode or scene, lastly the last example is that they already pre-record the show or series so people don't miss out on it and can watch it anytime.

4. What is 'long form television drama' ? [2] Long form television drama is a type of drama which ensure the watchers loyalty, the audience have to watch every episode whenever it is released.

5. What is a 'flagship' programme? [2] A flagship programme is a programme that is directed at a certain audience, the people that are watching will be appealed because it is aimed at them therefore they should enjoy the show. 

6. In exchange for the licence fee, what does the regulator require of the BBC as a Public Service Broadcasting channel? [6] It requires original programming, a mix of genres, arts and informational programming like the news. The bigger the variety of programmes and shows, the bigger audience as people can find more things that they want to watch.

According to The Times newspaper this week,  watching TV live and in real time accounts for most TV viewing.

1. What do you understand by the terms 'live' content and 'on demand' content? The terms 'live' makes me understand that the watchers are up to date and know exactly what's going on, the word 'live' refers that the audience are also 'alive' and are interacting with the tv and the information that they are given. The term 'demand' content suggests that the readers are able to access the newspapers anytime and so they can watch whenever.
2. What is the demand for 'live' content like? The demand for 'live' content is that people want to have the same experience as you do on other platforms on this platform, it's also that people want to be able to watch things at certain times as they may be busy sometimes and unable to watch their favourite shows.
3. According to ratings research, there are 8 programmes cited as the top live shows for family viewing. How many have you watched? I have watched; Strictly, Britain's got talent, the great British bake off.

The Blumler and Katz's audience framework is used here because of the entertainment and the interaction skills where people can both enjoy it and be interacting with each other, especially families and society in general, which would make people feel more connected to each other. How is John Lennon presented on the front cover of the magazine?

John Lennon is presented as looking quite stern and serious, like he is a very important person, which he is. As a reader it will make them respect him just by looking at his facial expressions as he is very important to the music industry. The picture of him takes a lot of the front cover up and it is placed directly in the middle of the page so it catches people's eyes as he is a very well known man, it will make people want to read the magazine if it includes people like him who are perhaps people they look up to. The background is a blue colour which contrasts well with his image as it makes him stand out even more, making it attract more customers. It is a very colourful magazine which again is very important because it can impact how many people buy and read it. It also includes a CD which might make people think is very terrific as its worth the price, Mojo magazines try and pact as much information as they can on the front cover to make people buy it, they'll use short snippets of words that will catch peoples eyes and fascinate them.

In conclusion, the cover is very important as it engages the reader, the imagine of John Lennon is also very important and his facial expressions tell a lot and how the reader views him.
